We recognize Sacred Realm in our lives by maintaining diversity and initiating the growth cycle of the Universe. Sacred Realm of Witches Coven combine our diverse backgrounds and abilities to teach and learn from each other and to serve as a model for our local and global communities.
Our Vision
Our vision for Sacred Realm of Witches is a healthy, healing, & teaching Coven, whose main objective is to gather to celebrate in a magical circle through a shared ecstatic spiritual experience. We gather as a chosen family, supporting and sharing without judgment with compassion towards ourselves and others. We recognize the sacredness of the living earth, and seek to preserve and celebrate the natural beauty of the mother through magic, love, spellwork, awareness and peace. We are companions traveling our paths together in joy and friendship, with laughter and love.
Philosophy
Sacred Realm of Witches Coven encourages each member to have an individual philosophy. In addition, the broader philosophy of the coven follows below. Sacred Realm of Witches Coven honors both a Goddess and a God as facets of a larger, more universal force that we sometimes call the Great Sprit. The Great Sprit is an omniscient, sentient mass of energy, present in most every thing around us. a being at once immanent and transcendent. While we believe the Great Sprit is immanent in each of us and in our Earth, we also believe the sum is greater than its parts. Because this being is difficult for many Wiccans to define, comprehend and relate to, we relate to the Great Sprit as Gods and Goddesses. While we respect the power and importance of all Deities.
A strong activist focus on environmental, political and social improvement is an important part of our identity and we often act in this role together. We believe we can take feelings and energy from our spiritual work out into the world. We can take those feelings we build, those insights, that energy raised, and turn them into action -- not only that, we feel we a deep sense of responsibility to do so. Our members strongly identify with Tradition Witchcraft, As well as the Egyptian Gods and Goddesses.
Ethics Statement
Sacred Realm of Witches Coven abides by the following ethical principles:
All acts of magic performed individually or as a group are geared toward the helpfulness of others, and our self guidance. No Magick will be used to harm any others, or any living thing.
Sacred Realm of Witches Coven believe that all life has intrinsic value and immanent divinity. diversity and complexity in life systems are critical and should not be reduced by humans. We also agree that human impacts are increasing and exceeding the sustainability of our earth system. We therefore should act to change destructive structures of our society through peaceful and democratic means.
Sacred Realm of Witches Coven believes that, as ethical statements serve as a compass for decision-making, mindfulness and consideration of impacts is essential. We specifically value consistency between ethical values, worldview, and action.
Rituals
Sacred Realm of Witches Coven meets for the eight Sabbats and thirteen full moons each year. There is one High Priestess or High Priest, leadership is also in some ways shared among qualified coven members.
Ritual is a connection, a common union, with the Gods. Our Sabbats are celebratory and give us opportunity to focus on our relationship to the God and Goddess, attuning ourselves to the larger cycles and the psychological and spiritual implications of the turning of the Wheel. Moons are reserved for honoring the Goddess and performing magic toward specific goals or needs being addressed by the coven or individual members. Whenever it is practical and desirable, we try to unify our intent so that our ritual is, in turn, a unified, coherent experience.
